So people keep saying that Bootlace is compatible with the iPod Touch 2g but no one says if its MB or MC, or both.
I would just go ahead and try it, but I heard Bootlace can brick your device if something goes wrong.

I cannot wait for iOS 5!!! I really hope the cloud takes over the role of iTunes in the area of file syncing, updating, etc. And we see a new maps application! Just those two would be great, but I know they'll be more! :)

Thanks for the donations by all who are eligible. I normally give every 8 weeks but am currently ineligible due to recent travels.
The rules on eligibility are pretty clear, dealing with different factors that can seriously raise the risk of infection or illness by the donor, the recipient or both. Everywhere I've donated, the questionnaire has been written as "have you done such-and-so" rather than passing judgment about one's life.
This probably isn't the right forum to debate the various factors and risks. Probably better suited for a medical research forum.

Google don't map the world either - they do the street map images, but if you look at Google Maps you'll see that the actual roads data comes from either Tele Atlas or Navteq. Those two companies sell their map sets to all the sat-nav companies too.
No need. Apple would just license the map data from either Navteq or Tele Atlas. The map data that Google uses at present is TeleAtlas (Especially for Europe).
Is this well-veiled sarcasm? If not, you guys are ridiculous.
1) Google does not own the mapping database they use
2) Even if they did, there are multiple geographic/mapping data providers
3) None of them obtained their data by having employees drive around in vehicles... That's an absurd suggestion

Every 20 yards a huge window pops up blocking the view onto whatever I do (mostly Google Maps because I try to find my way) just to tell me there are 5 new Wifi Hotspots in my vivcinity and I have to close it while I'm driving. This is the reason why I have to constantly go to Settings/Wifi/Off and then switch Wifi on again later.
I agree with you that the current iOS notifications system is terrible. But you do know you can keep Wi-Fi on and just turn off "Ask to Join Networks", right?

Disappointed. Great for Wall Street and Steve's stock, but who's minding the computer side of the house? I think dropping the "Computer" from its name was the single most significant news of the show. What's next a new gaming console?
iPhone - revolutionary in that it raises the bar VERY high for other manufacturers...But it still smells like first generation to me. Behind the arguably flawless design, usability and performance issues are already being raised. Kudos to Steve and his enormously talented staff, but I'll pass on early adoption. But slick..oh so slick..No one is as good as SJ for coordinating such a project. Now let's see how it sells.
appleTV - mediocre offering at best. 40Gb is way too small to host any HD material. It just begs for an upgrade. Why should it be paired to a computer if it has a wireless connection to the internet? My Xbox360 already can and play HD games to boot!

- no update to iPod in the near future (iPhone notwithstanding of course, but what if I don't want or need the phone part?)

Hey, I was wondering if there's a free or cheap program that can make pictures black and white, but have certain things colored. I have graphic converter. But I don't know how to use it to do something like that. If you can do it with graphic converter, please tell me how. Thanks!

If you're 18 and living under your parent's roof then you are obliged to follow their rules. Ok so you're legally an adult at 18, then quit leaching from your parents, reaping the rewards of living in their house, enjoying their hospitality and get your own place. But as long as you continue to take advantage of the good will of your parents hospitality then you follow the rules of their home.

no earphones! the box is only held together with a sticker so i'm thinking they got jacked somewhere along the line. or maybe they where just missed on the assembly line. anyway. tech support said i should have a new pair at my door by tuesday.

Belkin has a already a nice looking Skype phone on the market and I'm tempted to buy it.
If Apple really wants to release an "instant-messaging-phone" they should keep the options for other messengers open. I believe.
