I do to, though I wonder how much this matters. Since Apple's recent acendency in pop culture, even if the marketshare numbers are slightly inflated by PPC Mac users switching to Intel Macs, I doubt this is something that new Apple consumers consider. Rather, all they hear is the press and Apple saying, "our market share has increased" and it somewhat diminishes the notion in their minds that Apple is just too small of a company with too little support for its platform to invest in a Mac.

Ok so maybe off track but how much longer can the Darwin/Mach underpinings of both OS X and iOS last?
How long till we get to a much better way of doing the lowest level of stuff that Apple starts transitioning the OS to a new kernal. Reading the wiki page for the Mach kernal it would seem many of Mach functions are either duplicated or at least extracted in to newer OS features like grand central. Plus they've put alot of investment in to the LLVM compiler chain.
I guess I'm wondering if "the Future of iOS and OS X" doesn't involve Mach? Lion/5 being the last in that line. With Apple taking the WWDC to discuss what's coming after these two as much as what's in these two. You'd imagine that transition would be a two year public plan to make sure developers are getting themselves ready and it seems like Lion/5 will be in reasonable shape for those that need to delay a the transition for their own work reasons.
Makes it sound like Apple will keep the two brandings to distinguish the two user experiences.

What do people recommend using to record basic voiceovers in iMovie and FCExpress? My high school students currently use ProTools and Mbox and it's just way too complicated to record a simple voiceover.
How about using itself FCExpress? I make TV material with FCPro and can record VOs directly and I think FCExpress is pretty similar in most areas. Correct me if I am wrong ...

Oh, a lot more remains to be clear than that. Like the fact that MacOS X and iOS have completely different UI layers, Window managers, input methods, memory systems, etc.
People often think a few UI elements are all that make up the OS, but there is so much more happening under the hood, and in the way the user interacts with the machine, that it's pretty clear that a merge between desktop and touch-based OSes are a loooong way off, if ever.

You already have a standard for this, connecting any media device in a network.
There is no way to do what is being shown in this video with wifi or bluetooth. (Note that the toys do not have a power source.)

It's always funny when the networks do crap like this. They have an app that's hugely popular and people like me who live in Comcast's dirty grips wish I had access to. An app that people might start watching networks LIVE (I haven't watched a show live in 10 years thanks to DVR\TIVO)... then they go pulling this crap.
So the people with the TW app went from downloading torrents and watching on Tivo which provided ZERO bang for the networks' ad dollars, to watching their ads on the mobile device, and that's not good enough? Rot in hell then, lol. Because like when the Writer's Union went on strike, shows DID replace them. Sure they're not as great, but if those shows are what non-union workers can come up with in two weeks, imagine what they could do in two months, or a year...

Yeah because being hard headed and refusing to change with the times has done so well for us as a country (Car Industry, housing market, manufacturing process, infrastructure improvements, etc)....

It will be a surprise if they don't name a phone iPhone after getting all those trademarks. They certainly wouldn't save it for another future product while coming out with an Apple-branded phone.
Is there any chance they have another name in mind for their product but got the patents in order to lock up the name to prevent competitors from using it? Personally, I doubt it.

Although the particular organization was started fairly recently, I'm sure there was some reason that the organization was started.
My grandparents have been involved in an organization for many many years that is in support of a specific ethnic group. The organization doesn't deny membership to others but there are very few members who belong to the organization that don't belong to the ethnic group. The group was started due to issues that the ethnic group was having in terms of discrimination so they decided to organize and although the situation has improved, the group has still filled a need within certain members of the ethnic group.
Having said that, you better believe there are certain organizations within the US that would make it very difficult for a member of a minority group to join. And I'm not talking about the KKK (which is alive and 'well')

It would be nice if this worked in the other direction as well--i.e., from a computer to an iOS/AirPlay device. (Yes, I know about AirFoil and friends.)

You should check out Air Video (the iOS app). It's the best solution I've found and with iOS 4.3 it works great for streaming all the .avi and .mkv movies on my HD to my apple TV via my iPhone.
It goes (Air Video server on computer) -> iOS device -> Apple TV.
It was probably the best $2.99 I've ever spent.

My uses would be mainly Web Browsing, Video Watching, Chatting, some gaming (mainly DS and PS2 emulation), Garage Band and Photoshop.
As such, and considering the 9400 GPU already runs PS2 without problem, I'd say my priorities would be:
a) More RAM
b) Better CPU
c) Better Battery Life
d) Backlit Keyboard
e) Better GPU

The PowerMacs/Mac Pros are 64 bit systems. So Apple couldn't upgrade the Mac Pros with 32 bit processors from its old 32 bit processors. Because people who have Powermacs/Mac Pros needed the 64 bit processor.
