Let's see, largest mobile software store. Most profitable mobile software store (for developers). Most profitable mobile device.
Surely it's marginalized when the other companies are giving away their products for market share (and losing money in the same time).
Of course Apple is having great success today with its iOS ecosystem. However, I think we are near their zenith of market dominance and it will soon be downhill - eventually leading to stagnation and marginalization. We can see this happening with the iPhone; its market share is going down, not up. I think we will see the same trend come to the tablet market in the next year or two.

great, now Toast can concentrate on compatibility issues on the DVD-R side... i've had nothing but problems with my Plextor 716A (DL) and I can't burn higher than 2x without underrun errors on either my new MBP or the Plextor. Different media hasn't helped.
That's odd, my friend is using, well was, a 700Mhz G3 iBook with 640mb RAM and the same Plextor 716A FW drive which can burn at 16X :cool:
Same software, wonder what is going on with yours :o

No. If you take a life, you get to sit in a small dark room for 23,5 out of 24 hours of each day for the rest of your life. You will not be able to kill yourself, you will have to endure the absolute solitude. (EDIT: This is pretty much only for premeditated stuff, if you ask me)
Killing people is morally wrong (according to my beliefs), therefore I cannot support the killing of a criminal either, no matter how bad the crime is. If we take a stand and say that ending a human life is wrong, we can't kill anyone at all. Even Josef Fritzl is a human being, albeit he does give Hitler good run for his money on being an ass.

Anybody yet have experience with the noise level from the new 2011 iMac 27"?
I'm considering the 3.4 GHz i7 & the 2 GB 6970M GPU.
Unfortunately, in its specs, Apple lists only the idle noise level. I realize that noise level depends on temperature, hence load, but it can be measured. But measuring it is so often not done. And an Apple Store is hardly an ideal environment for stressing a system to hear how loud it gets.

Your thinking seems to contradict yourself back and forth.
Are you really saying that because Japan had limited natural resources it was justified in seizing Korea, invading Manchuria, invading China, attacking the Soviets, invading Indonesia, and attacking any country that decided not to resupply Japan's war machine?
I'd say you're totally wrong in trying to justify Japan's war of expansion

Of course my opinions don't count, the world's opinions are what actually matter. And historically speaking the "world" has no problem with war, in fact we seem pretty into it.

I will always have a soft spot for Atari. My first PC in 1987 was an Atari 1040 ST Mega 2 which had (hang on to something...) 2 Megabytes of RAM and a 8Mhz CPU. I added on a HUGE 20MB hard drive the size of a shoebox. I bought it coz of the built-in MIDI port which I used to drive my recording studio.
In it's day it was a GREAT computer!!!

I think we should try to keep the software listed here just to what�s flat-out free. Perhaps if someone wants, we can start a second thread to the tune of ��Not Exactly Free, But Worth It!� Software.� As a general rule, any software with a trial period isn�t free, so we should probably keep it out of this thread in order to keep with the thread�s theme. (And BTW � this isn�t directed at anyone in particular.)

Are you able to only download the fixes? Otherwise it is a 600mb plus patch
It's a complete replacement of the iOS binaries and Apple-supplied apps.
I think I pointed this out earlier, but if you look back at the recent WP7 update fiasco where a bunch of Samsung hardware got bricked by the update, you'll understand why a patch might not be a great idea. Esp. given the number of jailbroken iPhones and iPads out there, that don't have the base OS that a patch might expect...

Perhaps, this new feature isn't a bad deal with A-List, etc.
Now if I had only more than 1.5 bars and an iPhone that didn't go toaster hot (not cylon) :D when I try to use it on the first floor of my home.
So when do you think the LTE Microcell(s) will arrive? [off topic]

in Applications find 'Terminal' and once it is open put this command in there
$ defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES; killall Dock
swap the 'YES' for 'NO' to undo it.
